Raga Abhogi is an expressive pentatonic Hindustani raga known for its introspective and lyrical character. It omits Pa and Ni, giving the raga a compact melodic framework with considerable scope for expressive development. Ajoy Chakraborty has recorded Abhogi in both concert and album contexts.
About the Artist
Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty is a major Hindustani classical vocalist of the Patiala tradition. He received training from several noted teachers, including Ustad Munawar Ali Khan, son of Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan.
