Raga Madhyamavati is a pentatonic Carnatic raga known for its serene, devotional and auspicious character. It is traditionally associated with the concluding portions of Carnatic concerts and is particularly effective in expressing devotion and repose. Tyagaraja’s “Venkatesha Ninnu” is a well-known composition in Madhyamavati.
