About the Raga
Raga Bhairavi is one of the most widely performed ragas of Hindustani classical music. Its basic form uses komal Re, Ga, Dha and Ni and is traditionally associated with the morning. Bhairavi also appears in various forms of semi-classical and classical repertoire, including Dhamar, where the raga is treated with greater emphasis on rhythmic and expressive presentation.
